I've seen the morning waking up
A silent stirring breaking up
The face of the night
There's fire in the eastern sky
Stars are fading fast and I'm
Embraced by the light

I've seen miniscule thunderheads
These tiny billows overhead
In infancy stage
And later on when they mature
They'll share their beauty with the earth
In a sudden rage

Makes me wish that I could reach out
and hold the things I see
To get beyond the soil and embrace eternity
And I know that when I do
I'll have the eyes to see my home

I've seen majestic mountain scenes
All littered with the roads and thing,
We've built on them
It's an ugly sort of irony
My experience relies on these
But then again...

Makes me wish that I could be here
a few hundred years ago
To stand before their presence
in a pristine sort of show
And I'm trying to break free
from tethers of the earth
To see behind shadow
of a masquerading curse
And I know that when I do
I'll have the eyes to see my home

I've seen the canvas of the night
The flicker of a million lights
In candid array
The moon is tugging at my soul
Like tides upon the ocean pulled
Making my faith

Makes me wish that I could lift off
and pass the galaxies
To take in all the wisdom
that the night bequeathes to me
I'm trying to break free
from the shackles of this house
To cut loose from the gravity
that strives to keep me down
And I know that when I do
I'll have the eyes to see my home
